NFL Week 8: "Ask the Docs" Replies

Friday, October 25, 2013

You've got questions and we're here to dish out answers. Lot of great questions this week ranging from trade offers to starting decisions to wavier advice. We decided to go the Social Media route this year, so if you dropped us a question on our Twitter, Facebook, or Google+ pages, odds are good you got an answer! For the rest of you, we've compiled the questions and our responses to try to help the masses as well. Many of our replies will have components that are directly applicable to components on your team, so without further ado, let's get to it:

Who would be a better pickup at RB...Zac Stacy or Le'Veon Bell?
- Neil on Twitter

Docs: Bell in a close one. Both rookies have been very productive, but the loss of Bradford will be tough for Stacy going forward.

Trade Witten to receive Stevie Johnson? I have Julius thomas as TE Blackmon,Boykin,Hartline,Allen as WR
- Sam on Twitter

Docs: We would really like to get more for Witten, but it is not a bad deal for you. Thomas is awesome and Johnson is an upgrade.

Okay, pick two PPR league: Boykin, Terrance Williams, Harry Douglas, Edelman, Boldin.
- Anthony on Twitter

Docs: Boldin is more established, so he is the safer pick, but if you need a homerun, we would reach for Douglas. You have a lot of guys that will continue to develop as the weeks progress. (Douglas is risky this week, but he is the kind of guy who can catch a long pass an turn around an otherwise bad day.)

Need 2 RB, 1 FLEX option from...DMC/Stacy/Helu/Morris/P.Thomas/Blackmon/H.Douglas
- Noam on Twitter

Docs: Even though he has a tough draw this week, Blackmon at FLEX. DMC and Morris are your RBs.

Thanks for the great work. Bye week hell at qb: Smith, Tannehill, Palmer (your sit/start pick), Pryor or Lewis? thanks again
- Nicholas on Twitter

Docs: Palmer is our 1st choice, but Alex Smith is your second best option this week. Pryor is also a strong #3.

AJ Green, Decker, Boykin and VJackson, do I sit Boykin?
- Tyler on Twitter

Docs: Boykin could be great, but your other options are too reliable to bench for Boykin Week 8.

Harry Douglas or Josh Gordon (PPR) ?
- Steve on Twitter

Docs: Josh Gordon. He has continued to produce no matter who is throwing the ball in Cleveland.

I am stuck with 2 different dilemmas, Blackmon or Harry Douglas and Gonzalez or Reed?
- Brian on Facebook

Docs: Blackmon and Gonzalez

Should I start Vick, or Carson Palmer this week?
- Christian on Facebook

Docs: Vick is the start since he is back this week. His ability to run makes him too tempting to start over Palmer.

i sent out a trade: trent, rivers and mcgahee for DMC and Vick. I already have Luck, ok trade?
- Aaron on Facebook

Docs: Yes. Solid trade. Not clear winner at this point, but DMC should produce for you in the short term. The issue with Vick and DMC is that you are adding a lot of injury risk. Clearly a high risk - high reward trade.

Trade ; I'm co-commissioner I offered an owner who lost Julio; Cutler, DeAngelo & Jordy Nelson for Brees, H. Nicks and Zack Stacy; The other co-commissioner offered the same owner ; Rivers, Vick & Joe Randle for Brees and Josh Freeman which was accepted the accepting owner is a subordinate of the other co-commissioner-what's your objective assessment?
- Dave on Google+

Docs: Both are fair offers. The owner probably didn't like your deal because they didn't feel comfortable with Cutler as their QB. However the other trade makes little sense. Randle is a risky stretch for giving up Brees. However, no clear collusion in this trade.

I have Eddie Lacy, Alfred Morris, Terrance Williams and Roy Helu. In return I will be getting Adrian Peterson, Leveon Bell, Justin Blackmon and Alshon Jeffrey... Should I make this trade?
- Billy on Google+

Docs: Getting AP, Bell, Blackmon, and Jeffrey is the better side of this deal.

That's a wrap this week. Great interacting with everyone and good luck to everyone's teams this week. If you haven't yet, be sure to check out our FootballDocs' Social Media pages and send us your fantasy football question: Google+, Facebook, and Twitter.
